Keep in mind: I am not a computer expect. Quick question, if I have an external hard drive and load everything on it (ie FS9 and FSX), will that help my FPS at all?

Thanks in advance,
Graham

No, the data transfer rate of a USB External Hard Drive is much less than that of the internal Hard Drives connected via SATA

I used an external HD when I was running FS off my old laptop, and it actually hurt the frames and loading time a lot. If you absolutely must use an external HD dude to space issues, you can, but I highly recommend using your internal HD if you have the space for your FS files.
