Well it displays them, but not as it should! I don't know why this started happening but it looks really ugly. Any idea?

Did you do any defragmentation lately?
I experienced that with FS9 after an attempt of interupted defrag.
Also i got that in FSX, if i am not wrong when i switched SP's , dont remember what exactly happened.
I had read once a solution for that, but dont have it now, i shall look for it.

Thanks for your answer Rabee, but i haven't done any defragmentation.
I'm also using fsx acceleration pack but i'm sure that's fine because it has always worked well. I will search for the addons i've installed lately, maybe one of them is causing this.
Let's hope i won't have to reinstall fsx

Usgin REX or any add on visual effects?
Such stuff cause your problem, google it.
Seems that only way around it is to get unaffected contrail textures, copying them into your FSX.
But i suggest that you go ahead and contact (REX??) support.

I have those contrails too only they are white. I have FSX with no addons (such as REX). No sp2 either just sp1 I have no idea what defragmentation is so I'm guessing I haven't done that.

Fortunately i could solve the problem executing fsx repair option first, and then the acceleration pack. I don't why this started happening, i'm not using REX, the only addon that could have created this problem is Active Sky but i've used it for a long time and never had any problem.
Maybe they ran out of Jet A1 and they gave me diesel instead! 
Elise, if you don't have any addon installed i suggest running the FSX installer and repairing the installation. If you want i can send you the contrail files that are working to see if you can replace them.But first i suggest repairing the installation.
