I'm confused - this appears to be merely a reporting app, not actually changing performance.

Cheers!

Luke, its a possibility. However whenever I have this running on my system, my Ghz speeds are much faster, contained, but much faster. I actually didnt download this specific gadget. My new computer came with it, and when I noticed the performance gains thought I would share. Its the exact same tool as the one my computer came pre-loaded with. It semi-overclocks my GHz from 3.0(standard) to 3.5-4.0, but never any higher.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iF5oti-bSuY&feature=player_embedded That might help explain a little bit....

My understanding is that the i5/i7 CPUs will overclock themselves with or without the tool. No?

Cheers!

No, "turbo boost" has to be enabled in the BIOS, or via this tool.
