First off, I'm not sure if this is the right channel to put this in. Second, the issue: FSX keeps crashing every time I try to load a flight plan from the main menu. It just freezes up and says that FSX has experienced a fatal error. Funny thing is, it will let me load a flight plane from the menu after I start a flight. Does anyone know what's going on and how to fix it? Help would be much appreciated as FSX takes forever to start up

Elise, I would do a google search for "fsx freezes when loading flight plan" and read through the various issues and fixes others have had. It could be a number of things.

I googled it, but all the results were for crashes when using various addons, usually payware. I don't have any addons, besides the Wilco A330, which I wasn't using at the time

In the event viewer, does it say FSX has stopped interacting with windows and needs to shut down?

Solved all of my FSX problems, it might help this situation, as in my case, it was anytime I opened the "Time and Date" tab, and this worked!

I didn't try your link James because I want to see what's causing the crashes first, but it seems now, that fsx wont even load a flight anymore... it just freezes and you can't close it without right clicking it to close it...Should I do the thing the website says to?

what addons are you running? I had this only when for instance i would be using FSBuild 2.3 and may apply to other 3rd party addons...just a thought amte
