Hey all.

When I fly online with a headset the noise is all crackled and my FPS drops very low. If I take the headset out it is fine and I have no problems. When I fly offline using headphones everything is fine too, not a issue. Does anyone know why I am having sound problems when I use headset when flying online and how to fix it?

Hi Ben what OS and DirectX version are you using? Also have you tried reinstalling sound card drivers?

Hi Ben, thanks - I was gonna plump for the DirectX 9 sound acceleration - but that not an option with W7. It's odd that its whilst online. Is there a microphone attached? Just wondering if that could be causing the problem. If there is try disabling it in the W7 sound options. Do you have onboard sound plus a XI-fi card - if so is the onboard disabled? I've heard that an insufficient power supply can cause these probs if its a USB headset, but that doesn't ring true as its only online. What model is the headset? I'll do some detective work.
