I started to have problems with my sqBox4. When I fly to airports where there is not so many people sqBox works fine, as soon as I fly into the congested area like FNO's. I am getting disconnected within about 20 miles of the airport on average, and can not connect back on. Any suggestions? I use FS9.

While I was on yesterday I did notice that sqawkbox and fsinn was getting disconnected to the point that users were having additional issues with IE. email network slowdown and a number of other problems. I can't say for sure that it was the cause but it is odd that users that logged in developed issues shortly afterward

Regardless of how you connect to VATSIM, if you are in an online event, and there is a lot of other live traffic - both systems are trying to process all your normal FS data - plus all the live data. There are settings within both FSInn and SB that let's you filter out some of that - including what Sal said, but also you can filter non-moving aircraft - change the range at which your system "IDs" and processes those planes, etc.

If you have a slower internet or a not so great connection track record - that also affects what you are experiencing.
