I'm currently in the market for a new computer for flight simming which will replace my aging Dell XPS 410 desktop. The new Dell XPS 15 and 17 laptops are attractive to me as they seem just as powerful as a high-performance desktop but are obviously much easier to transport. Does anyone have any opinions on running FS9/FSX on a desktop replacement laptop such as the Dell XPS 15/17?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Dan

One of the biggest problems with laptops is they just cant be upgraded where it counts, you will be stuck with the video card that comes with it, and you may be able to upgrade the CPU, but getting to
some of that stuff can be a pain. Desktop is the way to go if you don't have to be mobile.

I'd absolutely get a desktop .... then use the money you saved (laptops are sooo expensive, especially the good ones) and also buy a big monitor.

Although some may claim they are, laptops just aren't built for gaming. Stick to a desktop. smile

Desktop every time for me, what it lacks in being 'mobile' it more than makes up for in flexibility.
