Im in the market for a new computer that will run FSX with light speed... Hhahaha ok... we all know that's not possible.. Right now Im running an Intel Dual Core 2.18 Ghz...

I can spend around $1000.00 and saw this deal on newegg ... Let me know what you think.

The only thing I see that I might want to get better is the six core processor since FSX is a Processor hog!

Thanks!

What would you suggest for a GFX card? Im not too up to date on the latest technology lol. Been about 6 years since I last put together a system and things have really come a long way. Do you think the quad core will be enough or should I bite the bullet and go for the six core processor?

The extra 2 cores in a hexa core vs a quad core won't make too much of a difference. I would take the speed of a processor over the number of cores. More cores will only be beneficial for HEAVY multitasking. As for the GPU, a 560ti should serve you well, since FSX depends more on the CPU than GPU.

Thanks guys..

Im going to be purchasing that system with the GeFerce GTX 560 Ti GPU .. Hoping to have it by this weekend and then the installation party begins! It will be running Windows 7 64bit and be a dedicated FSX computer. One more question I had... It comes with a 1TB HD .. I have always ran FSX on a seperate HD. Should I have a second HD to run it on this computer? And do you install ALL your add-ons and such to the other HD as well or just FSX and then keep your add-ons in the default Program Files?

Also would you all suggest following Nick's setup for W7 and FSX on the SimForums site? Im in no rush to get this up and running but want to do it right the first time...

Thanks so much for the suggestions and help guys.
