Two suggestions actually. REX for textures. Active sky Evolution for an engine/ weather generator.

Christian - I use ASE. Great program. Used to have some problems with sudden cloud shifts in FS9 but that seems to have been fixed with the latest version. The do release frequent updates. I use this in tandem with REX, all in all very happy with results.

How do you get just the REX textures without purchasing their full program?

They have a freeware version you could try, its an older one and not as great as their payware but it is still good. http://www.flightsimworld.com/downloads/viewfile/1375.html But as far as I know, there is only one way to get the REX textures, and thats to purchase their full program.

ActiveSky 6.5 and Ground Environment Pro is the way to go for FS2004. Both programs work together and adjust the textures according to the weather.

I was running AS6.5 with REX on fs9 and was pretty happy, however i have just purchased ASE and coupled that with REX and i can say it is awesome, well worth every penny.

Sorry Tom what i meant by coupled had been explained earlier in the thread, Use REX for the textures and use ASE for the weather engine, that gets the best results in my opinion.

I guess what I mean is how do you set them both up to run together for the best results?

One is a texture program(mainly), one is a weather program. So you just install both of them and disable REX weather and thats all.
