I Have a powerful Quad Core System and a 1meg high end video card. I have no problems running FSX alone or FSX + Squawk Box 4 but the minute I open an ACARSS, within 10 minutes I get Sqawk Box errors saying it couldn't do something and asking me if I want to ignore, retry, or quit. If I choose retry or quit it brings my FSX session down. I have learned to say ignore and that usually buys me about 20 minutes before the error comes again or it crashes my system. I have lost several Delta flights as a result because ACARS did not release me and cannot recover the flight!

What in the world is going on?!?

Are you running FSX, ACARS, and Squawkbox all as admin? I've never had a problem with SB this way.

Try opening Squawkbox from outside FS. Start --> All Programs --> Squawkbox. That solved it for me

I run exactly the same programs and have no issues. I agree, you need to have all the programs you just listed to be installed under administrator rights.

also try running SB from outside Flight sim, I had the same issue, what cleared it up for me was A. switching to the more powerful fsinn and B when I did run SB4 i ran it from the start menu and never had any issues.

Also I too have a high end pc, sounds very similiar to yours, so i know this trick works, as its on the SB4 forums on how to "cure" your issue. I would suggest heading over to Squawk boxes website and searching/asking over there as well

Something that I have doen recently after reading others post on the subject is to remote some of the software that FSX uses. I now have FScopilot/FSinn on my secondary computer, ACARS is running on secondary, FSX and ASE is running on my primary and is really great! FSCopit/FSInn does not need FS wide you just need to install the same program on both systems, setup a network for you two computers to talk to each other and away you go.

I had tried to get ASE to work with WideFS but no luck so I guess it will stay on my primary.
