Hello DVA,
Windows 7 recently went belly up so I decided, instead of trying to jump through all of Mr. Gates hoops to try to salvage that OS, I've take the (long contemplated) leap to Linux with Fedora 14. My question is: is there anyone around here who has successfully used MSFS/DVA ACARS/the fleet installers with Linux? Can I simply use WINE to emulate Windows and use everything that way like I used to with Vista and 7? Are there any quirks to look out for?

Wine's a completely unsupported configuration for ACARS and the Fleet Installers. Hopefully it works out for you, but if not I'm afraid you're on your own.

I've had a lot of problems with .NET applications in Wine. Sometimes an emulator just isn't good enough (unfortunately). Mitch, if I find a workable solution I'll let you know. I have a couple Linux boxes in my lab but haven't had the time to really play very much.
