My most sincere and deepest condolences for your computer issues... feel your pain.....
Love them when they work... when they dont...well... big hammer and a trash bag.... like road rage, only worse...
Good luck with the effort to get it back up!

Kyle - reading through what you have written it could be a number of things. Have you tried reducing the system to bare bones (removing any non essential hardware, extra HDD, Sound card etc) and then trying to boot. Try with one stick of memory in, and then swap that with any others. Also see if you can get it to post with the HDD disconnected. That should eliminate everything bar your CPU, PSU and mobo. A long beep like you described is generally a sign that the CPU or Memory has some kind of issue. Let me know what results you get if you try any of this.
I had a similar thing recently and it turned out to be a duff stick of ram.

Kyle - I build custom PC's and repair them. What are your system specs? How old is the system? Also, have you used any kind of tracking software like Dr Watson? The problem with PC's is unless you have something that you can use for trouble shooting you are really shooting in the dark. I had a system that would start up but not boot all the way, checked the power supply and it tested out OK (or so I thought) then after reinstalling my OS and a lot of other things I decided to go minimums and then work up so I unplugged everything but the cpu, mem, and primary hd, my vid card I had an old one that I could use. I started the system up and she posted, as I plugged things in it was fine till I plugged my actual vid card and the problem came back, unplugged other stuff to ensure it was the vid card then it started working again. Bottom line was the power supply was not able to take the surge of start up. replaced power supply and all was well. BIOS battery is another thing, could be a vid card, another thing I have ran into is I had a crack in the mobo that would not act up till the mobo got warm enough then a trace would open up causing the system to freeze. So as you can see lots of things can make the magic go away.

Specs:
AMD Phenom 8450 Tri Core Processor
MSI K9NGM4-F V2 Motherboard
2 x 1GB DDR2 SDRAM
GeForce 9600GT Graphics Card
Just replaced the Raidmax ATX12V 450W Power Supply and the CR2032 Battery on the Motherboard
Problem: No video output on startup. Everything seems to run, but I get nothin as far as video.
Story: I believe the power supply has been going out for quite awhile. After startup, the system would shutdown about 10 seconds in. After repeated starts, I could finally get it into a startup diagnostic where it would shutdown a few more times then do a system restore and would work. It slowly got worse to where a system restore wouldn't fix it and it actually shutdown in the middle of a restore and corrupted the OS. I'm not worried about the harddrive. I want to get my files off and reformat LATER. But.. My problem right now is I can't get the sytem to run even without the harddrive. I have started from scratch from nothing but a Motherboard, PSU, & CPU and slowly adding RAM, Cards, etc and no success. I have tried clearing the CMOS on the motherboard, and the CR2032 battery. My guess is the motherboard is fried, or I simply need a replacement BIOS chip.. Any other ideas??
EDIT: I just tried the old power supply and it seems to work just as well. I'm assuming it must be a Mobo/CPU issue..

OK next question, I see that you have a 9600GT card, have you pulled the card and hooked your monitor to your onboard Mobo, that board has a NVIDIA GeForce 7025 graphics engine built into it. If you cant get a video once you hook directly into your mobo then I am almost certain based on what you have described you have a heat stress crack in your mobo. When the board starts to heat up it bends and distorts as all mobos do and the traces if one is present will open. DOnt forget when you plug into your mobo vid card to reset you bios settings unless you had to pull a jumper to run your 9600 card.

Kyle - there should be a 2 or 3 pins on the mobo which you will have to either cover with a jumper or move a jumper along. If you look at your mobo manual it should tell you how to do it.

Also if all else fails, pull your video card, reset your bios, it should default back to the onboard video.

If there is no jumper that defaults your video card and you ahve removed the old video card and tried to boot up plugged into the mobo. Then my best guess is that your mobo is dead! You can have an IC that is fried, a loose capacitor or dead one, or something else. Trouble shooting is pretty simple. When I start on a system and it does not look obvious, the first thing I do is take everything out of the case and hook it all up on a table. This way I rule out false grounds from the case. I will generally start with a mobo, vid card if it does not have an internal one, a 1 stick of ram along with the power supply. If you are saying how can I start the board with out the case switch, were the pins are for the power switch just take a screw driver and touch both pins. If I dont get a video signal then I change the stick of ram out. If still no vid I reset the bios to default, is still no vid signal I will take a vid card I have for trouble shooting and try it, if still no vid, the board is more than 90% the issue.
