my first screen shto with my new computer turns out to not be a good one. None of the DVA/AFVA fleet airplane's textures are showing up. DirectX preview is already turned off. Also, my graphics card isn't showing up in the menu in settings. Oh, and I'm using a Lenovo Y470 with windows 7 64 bit with fsx. I have an NVIDIA GT 550M.

Elise, have you installed both SP1 and SP2 for it? I only mention this because I had this issue once and that was the problem. Once I installed the service packs my aircraft textures were returned to normal. I am using W7 64-Bit as well. If your graphics card is not appearing that may be an issue as well....all the right drivers, etc?

Yep, all the service packs installed. But my graphics card has been giving me trouble since I got my computer. at first it was disabled.

You think if it were your graphics card it would be effecting more than just the aircraft textures? Like scenery and other graphics files.

Well, the numbers and lines on the runway have a black outline, but I'm not sure if that is the point or not. Also the lights look unrealistically bright.

I had that problem just recently and Luke Kolin (the genius) told me to turn off DirectX and it worked for me. if that doesn't work, try reinstalling the aircraft.

I had a problem with my card that would cause lines at certain but extremely predictable times.
After trying everything, getting a new card took away the problem.

This would be the last resort, but not something I would totally dismiss.

Well, it's in a laptop so that would be a little hard I would imagine, and it's new. But my dad is going to take a look at it. I googled it and found that other people had a problem where the fsx.cfg file recognized the internal card, and not the NVIDIA one, so I think I'll have to remake the cfg after turning off the Intel graphics.
