I've done a few google searches and couldn't find anything about it but here's the problem.

I'm just starting to use FSX, I have 2 monitors, but I want to run FSX in full screen mode on 1 monitor. Whenever I try to start a flight the game trys to run on both monitors and my PC's performance takes a big hit.

I know the easy solution is to disable the other monitor before I launch FSX, but when I fun FS9 it only uses 1 monitor so I thought it was worth asking if anyone knows of a solution to get FSX to run on 1 monitor.

Daniel,
go to your display setting and set your #1and #2 monitor also make sure you check the extended option box that ables you to drag windows between monitors!

Yeah the monitors are numbered correctly and the desktop is extended onto the second monitor. I'll probably just end up disabling the second monitor for FSX, but I was hoping to be able to use it to display charts and such.

If you are in full screen mode you won't be able to have one monitor as FSX and the other for charts, etc....doesn't work. Just play FSX in windowed mode (ALT + ENTER to switch between the two) then you can do what you want. Lower the task bar so it isn't in the way and expand FSX to fit your primary screen. Works great!

Cool thanks. I was hoping there was a way since it works fine with FS9, I guess I'll just have to make it work.

Im with Michael! having dual monitors and just running fsx in windowed mode is the best... and if im not mistaken, I believe that you get better frames in windowed mode (so I've heard)

I'd assume the frames get better the smaller the window is, yes.

Personally I have it in windowed mode on my left monitor, but not stretching across the entire screen. I leave a bit of room on the left side and put my FMC there, as well as maybe the radio stack or weather or something. Then on my right monitor I have ACARS, charts, and Squawkbox open.
