I recently purchased the CLS MD-81 and am thoroughly impressed with its many features and impressive visuals. Yet, I would like the convenience of keeping the hotkey assignments which previously worked for all default fsx aircraft. I'm fairly certain there's a way to modify the aircraft.cfg file so as to induce things like the fasten seatbelt sound effect to respond my standard hotkey. The problem is that the payware is very complex and has many new and unique functions that now correspond with previously assigned hotkeys which no longer perform their proper commands. If anyone has skill and experience in modding panel and aircraft cfg files, please feel free to offer any suggestions you may have. Thank you for reading.

That's not an aircraft.cfg change... more likely creating a key mapping in FSUIPC that's specific to your particular aircraft.
Cheers!

I was hoping I would hear from you sir, being one of the resident fsx modding experts here. May I ask how I would go about implementing your suggestion or whether it would even be feasible absent the full version of fsuipc? Thanks for your contribution sir.

Not having the aircraft in question, I can only suggest checking in the "Addons" menu from within FSX, and see if there is a key assignment option. Most other payware aircraft utilize this method.

It should be on the top menu bar, all the way to the right, when you are loaded up. It doesn't show up in full screen mode unless you hit the ALT key.
