This only happens when I load a saved flight using the stock DVA 757. My system is Win 7, 64 Bit, clean install no addons except the DVA 757 aircraft. I created a IFR Flight from Chicago to Boston using high altitude airways, loaded fuel, saved the file. Worked perfectly except I needed to go back and load the flight plan again while sitting at the ramp in Chicago. Then I saved the flight at various points but now when I go back in an try to load any saved flight (including the original save), Flight Simulator crashes at the "Loading Sceney" point. The progress bar shows no activity before the crash back to desktop. If I use any of the stock aircraft in the program, everything works fine. By the way, is there a search method for this forum? I tried searching in the help section but got no hits. Thanks

Charles - have you tried reinstalling the 757? Your description would indicate that is what is causing FS to trip over itself. If that doesn't work try deleting your FS .cfg file (having backed it up first of course and made a note of your fs settings), starting FS, it will build a new .cfg automatically, and then trying to load the flight. If that works you will need put your setting back where they were and should be good to go. Come back to me if you are still having problems.

Before deleting the FS9.cfg file, try starting FS in safe mode. Not Windows 7 safe mode but FS2004 safe mode. You can find that option in the FS program group. Let us know if that works and we can suggest something else.

Captain Barber - I removed and re-installed FS9, including a complete registry clean. I downloaded a new 757 file and re-installed. Still same problem. I also installed the DVA 747 and it works perfectly so it has to be associated with the DVA 757 install. I searched the entire hard drive for both a fs9.cfg and fs2004.cfg files - I don't have either one of these files.
Captain Hepburn - I started FS in the safe mode and did not see any change, same behavior.
Thanks for your interest, do you have any more suggestions?

Charles - don't worry about the Captain bit, Alan is just fine! Same goes for all the other staff/pilots FS9.cfg is there you just haven't got W7 set up to see it. Open up your W7 drive in my computer, select 'Organize' and then 'Folder and Search options' in the next dialog select the 'View' tab, then ensure the radio button 'show hidden files etc' is checked and that 'Hide extensions for known files types' and 'Hide protected operating system files' are both unchecked, you can always reset this later. Then serch for fs9.cfg or go to C:\users\your name\appdata\roaming\microsoft\fs9, it should be in there. If you have reinstalled anyway deleting the file won't make any difference but you can try it anyway.
At the moment - the only other thing I can think of is that when you run the 757 installer do so as Admin.
See if that helps and let us know what happens.
EDIT: Does the same happen if you start a fresh new flight with the 757?

Alan
You are correct, I found the file fs9.cfg by going to the directory. The roaming folder was hidden, I already had all the buttons and boxes set up to find hidden files but for some reason it does not find the file in this directory, even after I un-hid the roaming directory. But that's a question for another day. I tried re-installing the dva 757 as administrator still no help. I have attached the W7 event log if that may give some clue as what is causing this problem. Thanks again for your interest.

Ahh... that's the problem right there... the panel. I've seen that soo many time and I never even thought of it. Find a 757 panel that suites you from www.avsin.net and replace it. That should fix you right up. If you still have problems let us know.

Thanks for the help, I played around some 757 panels and will probably just buy the PSS 757. Too bad the standard DVA 757 didn't work, I liked its panels.

Thanks for the offer, I already got the PSS 757 from Justflilght.com for only $22. Hopefully now I can spend the time learning how to fly it vs how to fix it.

hey guys, I'm having the same problem with this plane. But I just need it for the check ride so i can't use anything else but the stock plane. Below is the error I keep getting when ever I start FSX using this plane. I've seen something about getting another panel but would that cause issue with my check ride??
Please Advise on what I should do.. Also I'm using Win8 64bit

James, it appears that the 757 is having problems initializing the znewpfd.GAU gauge. You might have to uninstall the 757. Disable your antivirus and again reinstall the 757. When you first start up the 757, all the panels will be open and you will be bombarded with questions about installing/trusting the 50 or so gauge files. Be sure that you answer yes to these questions until the aircraft loads completely. Some people running FSX on Win7 or WIN8 systems have fewer problems installing FSX off the root drive as C:\FSX and not under C:\ProgramFiles. It has something to do with permissions on the files.

When I first install the 757 I clicked accept and/or yes to all of those messages. Believe me I did cause it took a while to do.. But never the less. Its that one file is causing me all this trouble even if I uninstall and try again. :-( which sucks because all I want to do as a simple check ride and move on. I got my eye on that 777
