I am having a terrible problem here.
So it all started when I wanted to install an addon for squawk box which I found to be incompattable with squawk box and I tried to reinstall squawk box. Then squawk box started crashing every time I opened It in FSX and seprately. I then decided that I would uninstall FSX and reinstall it and that would solve the problem.
I was only presented with a greater problem.
Now trying to activate FSX is not working. I enter my activation code and I then get an error saying that It is unable to connect to the activation server. I am posative that I am entering it in correctly. I then click on activate by phone. I have tried this multiple times and then it either crashes or I get a message saying that it was unable to find a product ID.
I then uninstalled FSX and reinstalled. This time I noticed that it didn't give my a desktop icon even though I checked it. The same problems listed above happened. I went over to the microsoft help center and I learned that there is the Uplifters regrestry that could have been changed for activation. I downloaded the fix and installed but I got no result. I also tried to do it manualy and still no change. I have also tried adding SP1 and SP2 to the installation but still no change.
I highly doubt that the activation server is down and I also doubt that my internet is down because I am able to browse the internet from my computer.
Maybe there is something wrong with my volume ID.
Any help is greatly appreciated,

Ummm..... The only thing I can think of is making sure EVERYTHING is gone from your system when uninstall... no fsx folder... no folder in your roaming file...everything needs to be deleted...

Alright, everything in the Roaming folder and the program files have been deleted. Are there any other places that there could be fsx files? What about the regrestry?

the last time I did a fresh install I didnt even look in the registry... if memory serves me correct, roaming -x86- my documents were the only folders I had anything in..
Also, after you install every piece, restart your comp... I dont know why it works but it seems to... it takes a while to do it that way but it seems to help

Alright, I have deleted everything simulator related on my computer as if it never even had it. I reinstalled it and tried activating it again. I got the same error saying that it could not connect to the activation server. After clicking activate by telephone I again got the erros saying unable to find product ID.
Should I maybe restore my computer to an earlier point?

I can click on register later but then I only get 30 min of FSX time and the flights I do are longer than that. However is it possible that I can use the disk to run FSX?

You may have to register later, then install the upgrade service packs, then go back and retry registration.

So I have installed SP1 & SP2 but I still have a question before starting the FSX program ( I want to get right so I don't have to reinstall it again. It's a lengthy process)
I have the acceleration pack should I replace that with the SP2?
Should I also download the microsoft fix it 50176?

my 5 cent of advice, forget squawkbox and get FSInn, less problems and more compatibility across the line (i.e. with simconnect) etc.
