It could be unique to my setup, but here is something to watch out for. The CRJ-200 panel indicates flap settings of 1, 8, 20, 30, never indicates 45. However, when I look at ACARS, it shows 8, 20, 30, 45. If you can get to a flap indication of 45, then I guess it works for you.

ACARS doesn't always record the correct flap settings that the pilot's use ....this is usually on payware birds like PMDG 737. The ACP/CP's are aware of this.

You have this exactly backwards. Most payware aircraft lie to FS regarding the flap setting in use. ACARS reports the MSFS flap setting consistently and reliably.

Cheers!

The CRJ flap indicator is known to be off. The real CRJ has flaps up to 45 degrees, so if you're using the Fleet CRJ, the pilot has to rely on the FS sound effect of the flaps going down an extra notch, or just keep on pressing F7 until you're positive they're down.
