In the pilots Center after logging into the Delta site, there is a link under the Flight Reports section at the very bottom. It is a link of "Airports you have yet to visit." So, I wanted to visit them all. One of the airports is ZGGX Canton, China (Guangzhou Old).
When I get ready to set up my flight, there is no airport in FSX for ZGGX. I am stuck!
What do I do? How do I get credit for this airport?

Check out AVSIM...maybe there will be an scenery addon there.
This happened to me one time...I flew across Europe and Asia only to be on final approach to an airport that didn't exist (in FSX that is)!
I just landed where the FMC thought the airport was and called it a day. I wasn't about to abort my flight, find scenery, and fly it all over again.

Since this thread came up, I'll also chime in. Is there any chance to get the scenery from FS2004 and copy it in fsx?? I searched the whole internet but there isn't a trace of a working scenery for Guangzhou old.

Just for my own selfish benefit, what airport was that?

Had to go back through my log book over a year to find it ....and I stand corrected. Wasn't China, it was Thailand, but same circumstance: VTBS didn't exist in FSX. I didn't know it until on final. Here is the PIREP: http://www.deltava.org/pirep.do?id=0x9621a

The situation with VTBS is that Thailand used VTBS as an identifier for a new airport down the street that opened between FS2004 and FSX. The old VTBS still exists and is still operational but is now a different identifier.

You should be able to just add them to FSX like any other airport. Whether they work 100% or not is another question. I've found the vast majority of the time they will work, some have minor problems like missing textures. Its worth trying and you can remove them if they don't work. Make backups before overwriting anything.

I'd recommend this website to try to find freeware scenery. It's a pretty in-depth database. I've found scenery for several airports in Russia as well as many other countries

I have been able to use any of the FS2004 sceneries in FSX. I installed them in FS2004, then opened FSX"s add scenery dialog and browsed to FS2004"add scenery dialog and clicked on it. It even works for FS 2004 payware sceneries, at least all the German Airport series.

But the question wasn`t answer. Is there an addon for China missing airports for FSX? Looking for ZGGX. Where are those guys that build airports?
