As a new member here, I'd like to share some info to my new friends here at DVA. I am going to show you how to set up your config file to have Flight Sim ATC direct you to the Delta gates after you land at your destination.

Open your favorite aircraft folder then open the aircraft.cfg file using Notepad.

You will notice something like this:

[fltsim.0]
title=Boeing 737-700 (Delta NNC 2007)
sim=OSBoeing737-700w
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=nnc07
kb_checklists=b737_dva_check
kb_reference=Boeing737-800_ref
atc_id=N301DQ
atc_airline=Delta
atc_flight_number=217
atc_heavy=0
atc_parking_types=GATE,RAMP
ui_manufacturer=Boeing
ui_type=737-700
ui_variation=Delta NNC 2007
ui_typerole=Commercial Airliner
ui_createdby=Project OpenSky
visual_damage=1
description=Project Opensky - Boeing 737-700\nVersion - Version 2004.9.3\n\nModel Designer\nHiroshi Igami\n\nFlight Dynamics/Scenario/Effects Designer\nWarren C. Daniel\n\nMaster Texture Designer\nTom Harlaar\n\nTest Pilots\nProject Opensky Members\n\nMaximun Range:\n3,383 nautical miles\nAirline Textures\nJoe DeGregorio\n\nRepackaged by Delta Virtual Airlines http:\/\/www.deltava.org\/

What you want to add to the config file is this:

ATC_PARKING_CODES=DAL

Now it looks like this:

[fltsim.0]
title=Boeing 737-700 (Delta NNC 2007)
sim=OSBoeing737-700w
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=nnc07

kb_reference=Boeing737-800_ref
atc_id=N301DQ
atc_airline=Delta
atc_flight_number=217
atc_heavy=0
atc_parking_types=GATE,RAMP
ATC_PARKING_CODES=DAL
ui_manufacturer=Boeing
ui_type=737-700
ui_variation=Delta NNC 2007
ui_typerole=Commercial Airliner
ui_createdby=Project OpenSky

This will work for 90% of the airlines out there. All you have to do is type the Airlines' ICAO code after ATC_PARKING_CODES=

Atlantic Southeast Airlines: ASQ
Chautauqua: CHQ
Comair: COM
Delta Air Lines: DAL
SkyWest: SKW

Hope this helps.

Yes...however, I would say perhaps 80% of us that fly here never use default ATC because it is terrible. I have used this method before, and it works well with Radar Contact if you use that (which I use when not online). RC4 isn't the real thing - but it blows away default ATC

It is mainly for those of you that fly OFFLINE and prefer to use your favorite AI add-ons (MyTraffic, Ultimate Traffic, WOAI...etc.) instead of flying online with other online pilots.

Kind of late on this but, if you have UT2 the program well allow you to this for whatever airline and aircraft you have. It even takes in account if you have different repaints for the same plane.

What I meant by this is most freeware add-on aircraft you download from Avsim, Simviation, FreeSky...etc., they don't place that code in there, so you have to manually place it in there yourself.

You have to edit the permissions under the securities tab in properties for your notepad files.
