Some airports when I first start up, I might select gate 1 or 2 etc., and FS places my aircraft in the grass about 50 feet from the runway. Any help would be great.

Are you working off a flight plan from the route plotter? Is this all aircraft? All airports? Need more info.

Sounds like he is using the website route plotter as this is similar to what I had happening to me.

If this is what is happening, the best corrective action is to use the route plotter, start game, load saved flight plan, then in FS select desired gate (or other location). I know FSX will ask you if you want to save the flight plan and you can just save it under the same name as what the route plotter kicked out. Then when you start flight, you won't end up in some random location.

I used the AirNav.com route plotter, save it, run FS, load FP, select gate #. It doesn't happen at all airports, seems like the smaller ones, lately I have been using the same aircraft EMB120. I will try some different variations.

I will use AFCAD to find out what gates are where within FS.
If I know the RW flight departed from gate C21, I'll look at the Terminal Map, find out where C21 is, then go to AFCAD to see how that gate is marked in FS.

Make sense?

Either way, that should keep you out of the grass.

I use GateKeeper so I can choose my gate prior to startup.
