Seems to me this happen to myself once. I contacted Microsoft and they sent me a replacement disc for the price of the CD and shipping. Now that was FS2004 and it was yrs ago! May be worth a try.

if you have a legitimate key you can use it on a torrent, you're not breaking the law downloading it, but you are if you "crack" it. I had an issue where my dvd drive wouldn't read my legit fsx disk and i downloaded a torrent of it, and used my key that came with my disk.

Downloading FSX from a torrent - or any payware program from a site like that is a bad idea. First off - it being uploaded anyway is illegal (for FSX) and then downloading it places you in the same category - regardless if you have a key for it or now. Plus many of the torrent sites have viruses, etc.

really? then why would the MS tech support recommend me the torrent to download? True many are viruses but I got it and it worked just like tech support said it would.

While I do not condone illegal file sharing, Michael does have a point. In reality you pay for the access to the content with a unique CD key. I've installed FSX from other's people's CDs before using my own CD key when my disk wasn't available. If you download it from a torrent and use your legally purchased CD key to unlock it, its not exactly stealing. Though, you do make a valid point Andrew that torrent sites are "use at your own risk!!".
