I would like to know if in the top down mode if there is a way to go left right and up down ? I know how to zoom in and out but I do not know how to do the other things in top down mode. Thanks

Not the default top down view. Basically it's like a fixed satellite over you. The only way it appears to zoom in or out is if you zoom in during a climb or descent and as you gain or lose altitude you will fly to or from the view point

you can use the + and - to zoom in and out, not aware of any buttons to move around in that view.
