Do you have the original disc? ....if so pop it in and it *should* prompt you further.
If you have XP on a separate partition usually during reboot you will be prompted to press a certain key combination to start the reinstall process.

Yes i have disc but HP doesnt have the button you have to know the key and i dont know what it is

What is this button you are talking about??? ....the key is usually a sticker that is placed onto the computer somewhere.

i dont know the keyboard key to 2 boot the computer from the disc? when you first start the computer.

It isn't a keyboard command ...your BIOS must be set to boot from the disc. Regardless, if you don't have the CD key than you're SOL.

Upgrade to Windows 7--it runs better, has better security and the disc has the 64 or 32 bit version (which I would recommend the 64 bit version).

What model of HP as some times they change keys to access the cmos. then in cmos you can change the boot order by putting disc drive to the #1 position. put disc in and restart.
