Hey guys,

I am currently running an nvidia 9800GT and it has my sim looking amazing! The problem is, when I get into thick clouds, it takes a 100% gpu load and starts stuttering. I know its not my cpu, its keeping above 30fps and with the gpu showing a 100% usage, that pretty much answers it there. I searched the cooler and couldn't find anything on this card. I am wondering if any one here has experience with the Radeon HD 6850: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102908 and could tell me anything good, bad, or any feedback about it. When compared to the GTX 4460, it has the better specs (although I don't like the high temps but maybe I wont use it hard enough for it to rise that high): http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/291?vs=313 I have heard more bad about Radeon cards for FS2004 than I have heard about nvidia cards. Any "pros" like to weigh in?

Thanks!

MSFS likes Nvidia. But the 5xxx series and up Radeons are good as well. If this is only for fs2004, I would go for the 6850 you linked or the MSI TwinFrozr II GTX 460 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127518 which runs really cool.

(ps. i would go for the 460 personally, as I have the msi gtx 460 and it runs FSX with REX HD clouds just fine, and runs battlefield3 at high settings)
