Yup, another "looking to upgrade laptops/pcs" thread! Not really too tech savvy with the underbelly of a computer, so I figured I'd turn here for some technical guidance. I want to upgrade laptops as I currently play FS9 on my laptop. Can't really upgrade graphics cards, and I maxed out of memory at 4Gs. I like the convenience of taking my laptop around whenever I want to, so I'm not looking to go for a PC (in case someone suggests getting a PC instead).

Would this suffice for a gaming laptop upgrade? Looking to keep it under $900 if possible, max $1K. http://us.toshiba.com/computers/laptops/satellite/P750/P755-S5392

And I'm not too sure how I can tell if I can upgrade specific components of laptops either (why can't there be a "you can upgrade me!" area of specs?), so can someone guide in that instance too?

PLZ AND TY! biggrin

Do you think this'll handle FSX? I won't have a problem shifting really since it'll be an entirely new machine. I plan on keeping my current laptop for business/leisure, and use the new one (above) for gaming. Is that powerful enough for FSX?

Upgrading of laptops is difficult as every different manufacturer of laptots eg Fujitsu, IBM, Toshiba all make different motherboards and the point to note is they have different motherboard designs so the component has to be compatible with that particular manufacturers motherboard design, its not very much standardised, not like the desktops where it is way easier to upgrade as most are an ATX design, so the laptops will remain difficult to upgrade unless manufacturers can agree on a common motherboard design-hope that helps!

That laptop would probably be good for FS9... Getting FSX to run well on a laptop is almost impossible... But you can try
