I think I'm ready to take the plunge officially.

I've had my AMD Phenom II x4 965 BE (3.4GHz) for about 2 years now but never really tweaked it. I have upped the clock speed temporarily but never kept it. I'm not really hardware savvy anymore and not sure where I should start. Anyone else running a similar chip that can give me advice about voltages and everything else? 3.6-3.7 should be a nice OC I would think, on a stock cooler. Looking into getting a new cooler after the holiday season is over. Thoughts?

Thanks, Stephan. I had been there in the past but was a bit overwhelmed with the information and it was still being developed as my processor was still new at the time, I think only a few weeks old. I read the guide and used the ASUS BIOS automatic mode to OC (can't remember what it's called) and it booted up with 3.68Ghz @ 1.45 volts. Voltage seems a bit high for only 280MHz, is that right? I know someone here on ACARS had suggested a while back about OCing my CPU (he was using the same hardware) so if he could share his thoughts that would be great (sorry, I can't remember who now).

I did a stress test, Intel Burn Test, and my CPU fan got really loud and I was getting worried that it would overheat, but it remained stable for a short test. I'll look at FSX and do a flight and see how it goes.
