I believe this is something that can be altered in the aircraft cfg file, but for whatever mysterious reasons, fsx has decided that on some flights, my 737 will have an extra contrail, emanating from the front of the plane and looking very silly. What line in the aircraft.cfg file determines the positions of contrails, and what should it look like for the 737? Thanks

Sounds like FS thinks you have a third engine somewhere. Check the aircraft.cfg under [GeneralEngineData] and see how many entries there are

Thank you both for your replies.

Phil, there are only two entries under that section of the cfg.

John, I never figured out how to post pictures in our forums. I was told I have to have an account at flikr, and I'd prefer not to have to set one up. I do have several screen shots I took which very effectively depict this occurrence and I suppose I could email them to you as an attachment.

Also, this extra contrail only seems to appear when I fly out of MKE with the 737. I have absolutely no idea how that can be explained in any logical way. But the one thing I've come to learn in my long dealings with fsx is not to expect things to be logical.

Yeah, I don't know then. I haven't dealt with FSX, only FS9. Sorry I can't be of more help

I've been around here long enough to know better, but unfortunately I still need this sort of thing explained to me. Please tell me how this is accomplished.
