If anyone knows, please be so kind as to tell me how to disable the incredibly annoying automatic airport info function in fsx which seems to produce completely random and sporadic updates regarding weather conditions at certain airports along a given flight path. I'm referring to the voice recording that is accompanied by a scrolling information bar at the top of the screen usually containing weather information and runway operations, along with other data which is never any use to me and only interrupts the otherwise wonderful silence of my flight (aside from the soothing sound of my 738's CFM 56's). Thanks for reading.

Are you getting conflicting frequencies? I had that happen on VATSIM when LAX_CTR was tuned to the same frequency as an area airport's ATIS.

If you have an airport editor, you could edit the frequncies themselves.

OK thank you all for your assistance. I actually knew that changing the tuner knob could end this type of transmission, but then whenever I do that, fsx ATC warns me not to adjust my frequencies, which is also annoying. I guess what I was wondering was whether there is actually an option somewhere in the game or alternatively, a file that can be deleted/modified which will cause these sorts of weather updates to stop altogether. Thanks again.

Don't use FSX ATC and vector yourself. You'll save yourself a lot of headaches.

I have it happen with ATIS's while online. It's odd. I have ATC in FSX disabled. Not all the time. It's very random.
