I got FSX on my system following all of the advice about the .dll's and such, and she runs.
The problem is . . . 4-8 FPS. What's going on here? With XP 32bit, I was getting between 28 and 34.
I have NVidia Inspector setup just like it was for XP.

Gigabyte GA-880GM-D2H Motherboard
AMD Athlon II X2
2x, 2gb DDR3 1066mhz Memory Sticks (4gb total) and 1gb ReadyBoost (for that super cool HDD cache, that's so cool)
EVGA NVidia Geforce 210 Graphics card with 1gb DDR3 on board memory.
Win7 64bit

Where's the delta from 28~34fps to 4~8fps?
What do I need to do to fix this?

Any Ideas? The only add-on I loaded in FSX was the NGX, and iFly.

Thanks.

Sorry for the way i will word this but Win7 is a resource whore. If i could have found windows xp 64 bit for my computer i would have rather had that then 7. Check how much of your ram you are using idle. Could be the speed of the ram too 1066Mz is pretty slow most are 1333-1600 now. Also since you are only using 4gigs of ram anyways maybe switch back to windows xp 32bit (4 gigs is the max for 32bit) until you upgrade your computer or something.

Thanks, Louis.
I have a copy of XP Pro. . . Driver's are, well, almost non existant for some of the hardware I want to run. Pro was a testbed that worked, but not well enough to continue to support it.

32bit only registers 3gb of RAM, so even though my system has 5 total, it only uses three. That's the reason I went to 7 in the first place.

But I do have plans for a tri or maybe quad core soon, as well as 4gb more of RAM.

Then, maybe set the affinity of FSX to one core and everything else to the others.

Thoughts?

BTB . . .
I've done some tweaks. I'm getting mid 20's in the air, but still around 11-18 on the ground. So I'm closer. I think Loius may be right in thinking that with 7 being a resource hog, my hardware's now the blame.

I would maybe see if you could upgrade your processor. It looks like your socket is AM3 for $145 you can get a 6 core 1035T, not black edition or anything but I am sure your fps would shoot up from it. Also try messing with the fsx.cfg jack all the settings down inside the game but add some range at which things can be seen.
