I'm trying to set up teamspeak for FSX (not that, that matters) anywho..having trouble, I'm finding the directions and screenshots don't match up with what I'm seeing. Where is the local address book tab on teamspeak 3? it keeps saying trying to resolve and cant connect.

You don't need teamspeak for the flight academy - the old academy course we used it but for the current one - you don't need it.

Ok, thanks...what do people use for vatsim and the like. I remember at a different VA, I had a real bear getting to talk online, due to having FSX. I actually had to open 2 different programs and have them running at the same time.

To go voice on VATSIM you use FSInn or Squawkbox

Run as admin outside of FSX.

IMO, FSInn is much better than SB.

Joel, I am not advertising one client or another however I will say that for me personally FSInn is the way to go. I've had numerous crashes with SB for various reasons. I've messed with the .cfg files, googled the tar out of it and still had issues. Since my conversion to FSInn, I've had far less crashes (if at all) and the sim seems to run smoother overall. FSInn can be a bit daunting to install, and if you need help I will gladly assist. Keep messing with SB for a bit if you wish and see if you can work the kinks out, but don't waste too much precious flying time on it! Like I said, I or any one of us are more than willing to assist.

Did you read the instructions on how to install and set up teamspeak for the flight academy? you can find the info in the document library...our teamspeak is used for the flight academy only, not for comm between pilots, as a chat room, etc....... biggrin

On teamspeak 2 I cant get to the part listed in the instructions, I downloaded it to my desktop, and as soon as I click on it to open it, I get the error message.

Ok, now were back to the same problem here...very very frustrating. Teamspeak 3 is able to install but cannot find the DVA server that is in the instructions in the flight academy (which by the way do not match up with ts3) Teamspeak 2 cannot be installed for FSX, it keeps saying "error loading lawlvoice library (hvdi.dll) maybe not installed?" all the forums tell you to fix by downloading and installing ts3. round and round we go. very frustrating to do the flight academy and I cant get past task 1
