Just an idea I got today regarding how flights are searched. If I want to fly from PWM to another airport, I'm limited by which airports I can fly directly to. In the case of PWM, it's LGA, BGR, BTV, MHT, EWR, and ATL. So if I want to fly PWM to RDU, I'll have to find the best route to get there. For this, I'd have to look which flights get me there for the second leg. If I don't know the route, this could take some time. My idea would be to search for a route you want to fly and the scheduler automatically pulls up a list of flights to get you there, based on flight time, length, maybe weather and other factors. I know PWM - RDU could be PWM-LGA-ATL-RDU, or PWM-DTW-RDU, or even PWM-ATL-RDU. Could this be a possibility to help save a bit of time if you're looking for a route from/to a certain place but don't know how best to get there? I suppose in the case of DAL you can get anywhere from ATL but that might not always be the best choice :-p
