I tried notepad, and it wouldn't let me re-save it as a .cfg file. It would only let me save it as a .txt file.

someone correct me if im wrong, but i believe its the same as with flight plans. when your saving, put the name as "aircraft.cfg" with the quotations. that might not be right, but its worth a shot

In the file save window, at the bottom, change the file type to "all files" then save as aircraft.cfg.
Or, better yet. Make sure you have a backup copy, then on the file menu, just click . . . "Save." It should save it in the same format.

Do you have the right settings under properties to have permission to edit the file? Right click on the .cfg file/click on properties/click on the security tab/click on Edit/click on Users/check the box for Full Control under the Allow column/click on apply.
