This just started happening and I am not sure why? When i am in 2D cockpit mode, VC cockpit or tower view i get terrible static over the sound of the engines running. If I switch to outside view it goes away or if I bring up the GPS inside the 2d cockpit view it stops.
I also was not running any other programs only ACARS. No REX, No ACTIVE SKY, No SB, nothing, I was doing a check ride in the CRJ200 downloaded from our site, But have noticed this with the default C172 also. Any Ideas where to start trouble shooting this? any help would be appreciated.

I have both FSX and FS9 running on this computer. I have not tried FSX, because I run FS9 most of the time.
Bellow are my system specs, Again this just started happening, not sure why, I did not add any software in the last 3 weeks. Just need to know where to start looking. This problem is only in FS9, no other programs are effected.

Robert - in FS9 options there is an option to lower sound quality - see if that helps, strange that it's just started happing though - check all your connections too and that you don't have anything with a high magnetic force close to your speakers. In windows XP/Direct X there was an option to lower sound acceleration not sure if this is still the case with Win7 though.

Thanks Alan, It did not make a difference. I am going to look and see if there are sound card driver updates available.

No I am using a Plantronics Gamecon headset. The problem is only when in 2d cockpit mode or VC or Tower view, Not spot view. Again if I call up the GPS or the Radio it stops. I was also thinking this is something to do with my head set I unplugged it from the computer and the static still comes over the speakers. What I plan to do today is download another sound file for the 757-200 install it directly to the sound folder inside the aircraft and see if that is the problem? Will let you know how this turns out.

This only happens in FS9 and it does not effect any other programs.

Figured it out. It is only when I have FS9 in windowed mode. If I switch it to full screen view Static goes away. Any ideas?
