No matter what I change in the Nvidia control panel my FSX looks the same confused

The only control I seem to have is via the FSX -> Display Settings menu .....I want full Anti-aliasing and Anisotropic filtering (that gives best quality, right??). Even with the Nvidia control panel set as such I still have the jagged edges.

What am I missing here? ....bottom line is I want maximum texture/visual quality.

EDIT: I run in windowed mode and at 1920x1080 resolution (I have a large/wide monitor)

Get NVidia Inspector. ( http://blog.orbmu2k.de/tools/nvidia-inspector-tool )
And watch the way you run it.
The mistake I was making with NVidia Inspector was . . . Even though UAC is off . . . right click, Run as Administrator.

Michael - and heres a link to 'recommended' settings www.simforums.com/forums/settings-for-new-drivers-updated-v1959_topic36586.html

Edit: For max visual quality - make sure the filtering option in FS is Anisiotropic (better ground textures) and then crank up the AA setting in Inspector to as high as you dare. I would recommend that you experiment with AA with loads of cumulus clouds in the picture as AA has to work particularly hard on these. Rinse and repeat until you have your image quality/usable FPS sweet spot.

Also make sure the AA option is FSX is unchecked

I'll check out those threads, thanks .....right off the bat unchecking AA in FS makes it look terrible, even with AA set in Inspector to maximum confused

That could have something to do with the override application settings/behaviour flags in inspector, that should be covered in the guide, if not or if it still looks awful let me know and will see if I can help

I'll be curious on how to set the settings, also. I can't get Inspector to change any of my visual effects either. No matter what I do nothing seems to take away those dang jaggies. I will also read the threads and see if it helps.

Read this thread: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/324786-nvidia-configuration-guide-inspector-2xxxx-drivers-version-20-explanations-of-all-settings/

after reading and setting it all up like the thread advises my FSX is much better!

Thanks, Michael. I'll try it. Did it take the jagged lines away?
