Had a question for you guys on here that know a lot about computers. I currently have the E8400 processor with 4 gb RAM and a 9800 GTX 512 mb video card. I was thinking of upgrading my video card to the GeForce 550TI 1gb. Would that make any noticeable changes to FS9? As it is now I can average about 26 frames per flight (set at 30max) with the sliders pretty much maxed out. Thanks!!

I was kind of in the same boat as you. I have an E8500, 4GB RAM, and used to run a 9800 GT 1024MB card. I am now running the E8500, 4GB RAM, and GTX 560 1024MB card and I am able to get some extra frames out of it. The 9800 GT is really a good card, but of course the GTX 560 is a better one and will handle the thick clouds better. I've got every slider maxed except for all the weather sliders, running a TON of addons (Around 35 addons including REX OverDrive, FlightBeam, FSDreamTeam, FlyTampa, AES, etc.) and have my frames locked at 34 and very rarely drop below 27-29 frames. So in my opinion, if you have the money for it, I would recommend it. It may or may not be a night and day difference for you since other factors also play a roll on frame rates. By the way, do you use NVidia Inspector?

I would HIGHLY recommend that you do use NVidia Inspector. Its a very easy and simple tool, but should make a world of difference in visuals and frames in your sim. Here is the link to suggested settings and explanations: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/324786-nvidia-configuration-guide-inspector-2xxxx-drivers-version-20-explanations-of-all-settings/ Even though it shows FSX in the box for the example used, I followed those guidelines for FS9 and tweaked it to my liking. I can post screen shots of my settings too if your interested.

Actually Kyle, I have used Nvidia Inspector...I just didn't remember the name of it. When I looked at the link you put on I realized I had used it.
