I remember my first Windows 3.11 and then switch to Win 95 was huge jump to the future. After that not so much may be Windows 2000 deserves mentioning. Overall OS become boring stuff.

so far from what I have seen, windows 8 just doesn't do anything for me.... maybe they should just release it for tablets since it is designed to be used with a touch screen. Windows 8 looks a lot like Windows Mobile!!

Yes, I also remember when the dos prompt came in and I had to type windows in to start the GUI. It's definitely worth it, and, believe or not, the applications of the win3 still works with the XP's 16-bit subsystem.
