Ok guys so heres the problem, Squawkbox works and all, I connect to VATSIM, I see other aircraft, I see the ATC in the ATC list, I tune to the ATC frequency and it shows up as connected. I can send voice but I cant recieve it. Ive never had this issue before. The controller hears me but I cant hear him

I would look in the voice options in SB to see if you output device is set right. I had the opposite problem once. I could hear ATC but they could not hear me and my input device was set wrong.

Try calibrating the microphone in Squawkbox from the options menu. Usually this will solve the issue. cool

I had the same problem with SB and FSINN, but only when i got a new usb headset. took ages to find out what had happened. played with all the settings ect. in the end i reinstalled SB and it worked fine. might be worth a try if all else fails

Christian,

From what you described, it seems you transmit okay, so it is not your mic. I don't know what system you have or if you are using a USB hedset or one that plugs into the PC's audio jacks. I'll describe what I have and maybe it might help you solve your receiving problem.

I Have Windos XP, FS9, SB3. I have the "PC Sound" (START-CONTROL PANEL-SOUND AND AUDIO DEVICES) set to receive via the PC's audio jacks connected to the audio driver for the PC card or integraded device I have my USB headset only selected in SQB settings options. Make sure the receiver volume slide in SB is set max to begin with. This setup allows the engine and aircraft sounds to be heard via the PC speakers (letting you control the volume) and then ATC communications via the Head Set.

Try testing the headset by using SB. It provides a way to test your mic. I'm not on my Flight Sim PC now; otherwise I would detail the paths to get to the test. But you can find them in the SB menu.

If it all seems right, test the speakers in your head set by setting the PC sound driver to your headset (START-CONTROL PANEL-SOUND AND AUDIO DEVICES) and play some music.

Hope this helps!
Martin
