Still new here so I'll ask - for online events with longer distances such as the one coming up from Hawaii to the west coast, is it implied that pilots in regional jet programs (such as the CRJ) should not be participating since the equipment can't make the distance? The sign up form shows the CJR as available equipment for the event. The 900 might make it a little over half way on fuel with favorable winds but clearly this would be an unrealistic flight for the event.

Correct. Unless you have the rating (737 at the very least), all you would be doing is drowning pax.

It's implied that you should use an aircraft that can make it! biggrin I am sorry if you are not rated in an aircraft with sufficient range.

Oh not a problem. I assumed that was the case but wanted to be sure. I'll eventually work my way to different equipment. Sitting in the cockpit for 6 hours online will need to be planned ahead - like when my family is not home (rare).

You can step away as long as you can hear the chimes of a new message and be able to respond quickly.

As with any flight at DVA you need to be able to make it legally which will say you'll have fuel for the route + alternate and 45 min reserve.
