 Fatal Errors
Hey Everyone,

I wanted to bring this to your attention because it's really a mind boggle on what the heck is going on with FSX. This happened before I just reinstalled FSX fresh into a new hard drive and still is happening.

I was flying all over Europe with the Legacy 600 until it happened. I was flying from Zurich to Rome and every time about 85mile or less, the system crashes. So I tried it with another A/C and it did it again. Now remember it did not happen anywhere else In Europe but this route only. I flew it with acars and it's crashes...So I decided to take a trip back to BWI from Rome and 30 minutes out, it crashed. Not sure why it's seems to be crashing over Italy.. I have no addons or AI excepted from my VA that I'm members of. This whole thing is driving me crazy. If you have any idea on what may be causing this, can you spread some cheer my way for help...

PS
I have just install fresh, FSX onto a new hard drive, it's still doing it. Please help if possible.

Many thanks guys and gals..

David

Sounds like you've got a corrupt file. Probably in the scenery files for italy (more specifically Rome). And if it still does it after a full reinstall, its probably corrupted on the disk. Try replacing the scenery file for Italy and see if that clears it up.

Hey Kevin,

I thought about doing that since I just installed FSX 2 days ago completely fresh, the only thing is that when you look at the scenery file, they become numbers and I have no idea witch one I need to delete. If I find and delete it, will it create a new file next time I open FSX again? Thanks for your feed back so soon..

Does it happen anywhere else in the world?
Is there any correlation with mouse clicks? That one got me recently when I reinstalled FSX, then I remembered the UIAUTOMATION.DLL file fix.

Jeff,
I know that if you start clicking pretty fast that over time, fsx will say poof and crash.. But I did not you the mouse at all except to get my ILS numbers from the GPS. and that when it did it. Yesterday, I was 14miles out.. so Pissed...Whats that DDL your talking about?

There is a known bug where multiple mouse clicks within FSX will trigger a fatal error. It's due to a missing or corrupt DLL file called UIAUTOMATION.DLL within the FSX program directory. It plagues me after every re-install because I end up forgetting about it. I'm not sure if ït's an issue "out of the box" (after SP1/SP2) or triggered by a particular add-on.

That worked for me as well. My first 4 flights in FSX ended with FS crashes, the last 3 crashed befiore pushback.
