Hey guys, just to warn everyone this is another annoying "Will this run FSX ok?" thread. I am curious as this is my first build and I am pretty excited. Here it goes....
GA-Z77X-UD5H (may set up SLI later on just want the expandability)
i5-3570k (will be overclocked)
Corsair H60 (push-pull)
8 GB Corsair Vengence 1600 (may overclock)
GTX560 Ti 1GB 900MHz
60 GB SSD
1TB hd 32M Cache
Please let me know how this looks. I always like to have a 2nd,3rd,4th,5th...etc set of eyes! Thanks guys!

Switch to a 2500k, the IB overheats when overclocking. I would switch to a good heatsink and save some money on the cooling. The Hyper 212 will perform about the same for about half the cost. The GPU should work fine, but you might consider switching to a 570; especially if you are going to be using more than just flight sim. That SSD is small; if you're using it as a cache for the HDD it should be fine but otherwise you should get something a little bigger. If you can give me a budget I can throw a wishlist together for you with my best recommendations.

I have heard that the reason for the ivy bridge was the stock paste was not as good as the SB. My sources could be wrong. FSX is my primary game of choice with addons of course. And I am using the SSD as a cache for the HDD. My budget is somewhere around 1500 give or take. I am open to any and all recomendations. Thanks Robbie

Ok, sorry about the delay I've been out of town for a few days. I have the wishlist made up, and you can view it here http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=15263574 . It currently comes to $1239.88 after MIR. If you get the GPU before 5/25 it will also be $20 off bringing the total down to $1219.88.

I went ahead any put the 2500k in this list. The overheating issues with IB might be the thermal paste, but I would still go with SB atm just in case. If you decide on IB everything else on the list will still work fine with it.

I switched you to a heatsink instead of liquid; you will get very similar (if not better) cooling performance with this one. If you really want liquid, I would go with an H80 instead.

I went ahead and bumped the GPU up to a 570; its within your budget and is defiantly worth the extra ~$50.

I also bumped the mobo up to a sabertooth. The one you picked out is a good one, and the sabertooth is very similar in some respects, but it is made to last a lot longer.

Everything else in the list (case, psu, etc) are my stock recommendations, and can easily be switched out for something else; just let me know.
If you have any more questions or want me to update the list, I will be checking back here or you can feel free to email me. Until then Blue Skies & Happy Landings!

It isn't the paste between the CPU and fan/heatsink that is the issue ....it is the paste between the die and the heat spreader.
