For the past few months (pretty much since I joined DVA) I have been having problems with my engines not responding to my throttle input if I spend a while on the ground. It happens in FS9 and FSX and in all aircraft (so far I have noticed it in the default CRJ in FSX, the PMDG 737NGX, and the PMDG MD-11 in FS9). Sometimes if I pump the throttle every now and then during preflight it seems to help, but it doesn't always work. It also only occurs on the ground starting with the engines off, If they work when I get them started up they are fine for the rest of the flight. Also, If I start them up and they don't respond in the MD-11, I can still hear the audible t/o config warning and see the throttles move, but the engines still do not respond. I am clueless as to what the problem could be, so any ideas are welcome.

Robbie, do you use a joystick with integrated throttle, or are you using the the "f" keys on your keyboad?

I have had the same problem with the Saitek Proflight yoke and the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro.

Try disconnecting your yoke and joystick and see if you still have the problem using the keyboard to control it. If you don't you prob have a problem with your USB port. If you do, its the sim. You might need to do a reinstall.

It isn't all the time and the joystick and the yoke were plugged into seperate usb ports so it is most likely not a hardware issue. Also it happens in both FSX and FS9 and it started happening in FSX before I even installed FS9, so I don't think a reinstall would help. I can't think of any add-ons I have that would affect both of them, and I can't think of any other software that would affect either sim.
Edit: Also forgot to mention restarting FS always fixes it. I have to redo the preflight, but the second time around its usually quicker so I am able to get the engines started before the problem occurs.
