Is anyone, besides me, having problems with their payware aircraft? I do the Windows auto updates and one morning I got up and my Level_D, PMDG 737NGX, and QW 757 all crash. I get a SimConnect init error with the QW and the Level_D, and PMDG 737NGX just freezes. I have reinstalled the system three times. Everything works fine with a fresh install of Windows 7. The very minute I use the Windows updates the problem returns. What ever it is that is causing the problem is wipeing SimConnect from my Hard Drive. If I fully install windows with all the updates installed and then Install FSX I still get the same issues. The order I installed with was FSX then FSX sp1, then Accellerator, then FSUIPC (Ver 4.8), then my Level_D. The thing still crashes. None of the Captain Sim packages have any issues nor do the Wilco Airbus evolution series packages. I have confirmed that the SimConnect is missing from my C:\Users\David\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX directory. I have placed the SimConnect.dll (which was also missing) in the root directory and it makes no difference.
Through my Robotic programming (C#, C+, VB) I have learned that everything is programmed for the Dot Net 4.0c and above. (I think 4.5 is out now). They (Microsoft) are also pushing "The Cloud" big time. Trying to run FSX under the XP compatibility does nothing to help. But what is interesting is that Windows 7 has been added to the run in compatibility drop down menu. Any thoughts, suggestions, or rumors will be welcome.
Windows 7 Home Edition
FSX Gold
i7 with 8 gig ram
GTX 460 SL (1.4 gb)
600 gb hard drive space free
PS
FSX runs fine with the default aircraft. No use in asking Microsoft for help on this because they will say that the payware is not supported. I still have a month to go before I can fly on line again so hopefully I can find a solution by then.
