Hey I just got hired yesterday. I flew my first flight from KSTL to KATL today with FSX. I reported it manually since I did not know I needed ACARS. Can anyone just basically tell me how to use ACARS for the next time I fly?

Welcome to DVA! You can download ACARS v2.2 from the fleet library.
There's a somewhat dated but still useful manual here. http://www.deltava.org/library/DVA%20ACARS.pdf
Since you don't have a DVA ID yet, the first time you login you'll need to use the temporary ID in your pilot center, then acars will assign you your permanent ID.

Once you get ACARS installed and up (start it after you start FSX) just fill in the blanks.
Departure airport - SID
Arrival Airport - STAR
Alternate airport
Route
Remarks
Cruise Alt / offline (or VATSIM/IVAO)
and then hit start flight, set up your fuel, and get in the air.
There is an ACARS information manual in the library that is pretty thorough and will help alot.
Welcome Aboard, Glad to have ya!

Also, the dispatch and fuel planner features are purely optional. You don't have to use them. But they are a nice feature.

just enter all the data in acars and when you start fsx, set parking brake then go back to acars and start the flight. Upon landing taxi to gate and set parking brake then end the flight in acars
