Okay guys, ive been here for awhile but never really run into this situation. im a FO in the 767 program. now i have completed 3 out of the 10 flights so far. i understand that i need 5 out of 10 to request additional ratings in the same category or below. so my question is i havnt gotten my md-80 or 757 rating yet, after i complete my 5 out of 10 flights and take my checkride for either one will i automatically be switched into that rating. i want to stay in the 767 but want those additonal ones.

Nothing is automatic ...if you want additional ratings or to be promoted you will need to take the initiative. In your Pilot Center scroll down to where you see "PILOT TESTING AND PROMOTION" ...that is where you request additional ratings, take tests, etc.
Refer to NOTAM #36 also: http://www.deltava.org/notams.do

I understand that. sorry if i miss worded it. I know i have to take the inititive but every checkride ive taken was one higher than me so when i passed it i was automatically put into that rating. but i want to know if i get an additional rating of a aircraft at or below my type, once i pass the CR will i just have that rating or will i be put into that rating as a FO?

Oh ....I see, sorry. It is my understanding that utilizing the "Request Additional Ratings" button is just that, requesting additional ratings and NOT transferring to a different program. First you need to be a Captain in your current program BEFORE you may request more ratings.
