I'm new to DVA and have encountered an issue that maybe someone has come across and fixed. I did a search in the forums for an answer but came up empty. I know most members of the VA fly online with Vatsim, I haven't gotten to that point yet, so I still use Radar Contact version 4.3 (RCv4) for my ATC ques. The other night I was able to fly using RCv4, after loading and using the DVA ACARS v3 my RCv4 software would stop responding when I go to contact ground for taxi out. Has anyone else had this happen? Any advice will greatly be appreciated.

RC4 should be impacted in no way shape or form from ACARS. I've used RC since it came out and never had any issues like you're stating. Can you fly flights (the ground comms working) without ACARS?

I haven't checked the forums lately but is there any news (or hope) that RC5 will ever get released?
Cheers!!

Honestly I didn't try it off line with no ACARS. It was getting late and I was frustrated. I'll have to give it a try. There may be another issue that I haven't thought of. I just recently replaced the default KATL scenery with a freeware scenery download. I don't know if that has an effect. I'll try RC4 without ACARS first. If it still is not working I'll look into the scenery causing the issue.

Last time on the forum, JD said the RCv5 was on hold indefinitely. But he still had plans for it.

James, I have the same problem when I use RC4 with a flightplan that has been created (and saved) using the Route Plotter from the DVA Site. Everytime I try this, RC4 stops when contacting ground for taxi.
My solution is to create (and save) flightplans by using other tools. I prefer FSBuild (but there are a lot of other flight planners out there) and I neved ran into problems with this combination.
I'm using FS9 - so I can not say if this might work with FSX, too.
Hope this helped,
Cheers

Yes I use FSBuild. I think it might have something to do with a scenery download I installed. I've been busy at work so I have not had a chance to get back in there to verify that is the case.

Have you tried to rebuild the scenery DB within RC4 after having installed the new scenery? There is an option in the utility panel of RC4 called "Rebuild Scenery DB".

That was one of the first things I did. However I am going to try running it a second time just to ensure everything was updated properly.
