I have a question some of you tech savvy types might be able to answer. I currently run FSX on a Gigabyte GA-H55-S2H MB with an Lga 1156 I3 CPU running at normal clock speed (I think 2.8GHz), I have 8Gb of DDR3 1333MHz Ram and a GTS550 NVidia Video card. My question is, should I consider upgrading my CPU to an I7 or wait till I have the funds to change out the MB and CPU.

The current system I have works well, but I think I can improve Frame Rates if I upgrade my CPU. I find myself cash strapped at this time and a complete rebuild of my system is not practical. So I figured I get the most bang for my buck if I do a CPU change-out first.

Any ideas you Tech guru's can provide would greatly be appreciated.

Find a reasonable second generation i5 and overclock it. FSX is very CPU dependent. One can spend big bucks for only a few additional frames without plenty of research.

Take a look here at the mb/cpu combos. You can find some really good deals here for less than you'd spend on a new CPU at full retail price.
