As long as we fly commercial routes wouldn't be cool to introduce some sort of economy?
You can get profit from passengers (numbers do exist in pirep) and spend those money on fuel (amount is good known) and aircraft repair (based on fpm/g of landing plus fixed amount for each cycle).
It should at least stimulate the pilots to use more precise fuel calculations.

It's been discussed many times before. You can see what the answer was.

This is one of those topics that crops up a couple of times a year. I know its been discussed by Sr Staff before, and, from what I remember the last time it came up, it was decided that DVA was doing just fine without it. And by not implementing virtual currency, it allowed the biggest range of people to be a part of the VA (as casual simmers who don't put as much emphasis on realism would be "punished" by lower numbers). I could be wrong, but that was the reason I remember being given.

Why not introduce it as an option. You can choose to fly with it or you can choose to fly without it. Even though it would probably be harder to implement. I would find it an attractive feature if I was looking for a VA.

Yeah I wouldn't really enjoy that. It would make flying feel more like you are running the Airline instead of being a pilot for the airline.
What I would like to see though, is you know how in the Pilot center where it says statistics about your flights? It also says the amount of passengers you've flown. I would like there to be an ACARS feature that would tell you how many there will be before you go flying. That way you can plan your weight accordingly.

That would actually drive me away from a VA. I already have a job where I earn money. I don't want to feel like this is a job as well.

Best as I can remember about 2 or 3 years ago the idea was nixed with the thought of it being a performance statistic that detracted from what we were trying to accomplish here. I'm speaking from the AFVA side of the house on this, but I think that was the consensus on both sides.

That's one of the few things missing for DVA, it's really nonsense having the head count only after the flight. I would like seeing that implemented too.

The current (BETA) version of ACARS does tell us how many passengers we have before starting the flight. I've started using that number + flight crew for my VATSIM flight plans.
