Hey,

I purchased Windows 7 OEM a few years back for my PC. If I do a clean install of Windows 8 on my system and decide to roll back to 7, do I by any chance lose my Windows 7 OEM license?

Thanks!

No ...I've reinstalled my Windows 7 OEM disk so many times I've lost count.

So long as you have your Windows 7 disk and CD Key you're good to go with the upgrade without worrying about rolling back to Win 7. I recommend you don't upgrade to Windows 8 as I found that FSX crashed everytime I was using the sim.

Here's the word from the horse's mouth:

"You can reinstall Windows on the same computer as many times as you want because activation pairs the Windows product key with information about your computer hardware. If you make a significant hardware change, you might have to activate Windows again."

It's an automated system you call into .... Windows gives you a bunch of numbers to type in and the system gives you more numbers to type and then Windows is activated.

Sorry Microsoft, if I decide to upgrade my computer I am not going to buy another copy of Windows.

Oh ya...and I'm not sure about this Windows 8 business. Don't think ACARS supports it. Been a thread or two regarding ACARS and Windows 8 not playing well together.

I have gone to Windows 8 and it flies just fine. Now if I could just get it to remember my mouse look settings. I will try ACARS later this week to see if it works. Oh and yes, I have reinstalled my Win7 OEM many times.
