Hello everyone.

For quite some time now i've been having a problem with FS9, Everytime i start a flight and takeoff it suddenly stops like i have paused it, And then it returns to desktop and gives me a message saying Microsoft Flight Simulator is not responding, Along with that ACARS says its not responding also. I've tried to reinstall it, And that hasn't worked, I have tried to do a flight without using ACARS and it didn't freeze up, I don't know if its ACARS causing it or what. I have used ACARS before and its never caused a problem so i just have no idea what to do now.

I'd really love to get some help as i haven't been able to fly for a little while now.

Thank you! smile

Hiya Michael, I hope i can help you get back in the air (soon). I have a couple questions if ya don't mind.
1. From the last time you completed a flight to the 1st time it crashed, do you remember installing any new FS freeware, Payware, or were there any windows updates that week?
2. What OS do you run?
3. Do you run any addons before you start FS9 (i.e. FSX Booster, MEI, XFS, ect)?
4. What Saitek components do you run?

Hello Gregory.

I can't remember exactly, But its been happening for a few weeks now, However i have been able to do a flight or two since and it hasn't crashed, Its most of the time though.

I haven't installed anything new, I think i only have the UK2000 EGLL & Quality Wings 757. I think Windows did do an update recently yes.

I'm running Windows 7 64BIT

Don't run any addons before starting FS

And the only Saitek product i have is my joystick, Saitek Cyborg v.1

I hope this info helps smile

Ok Michael, First thoughts are this, In order of ease, this is what I would do (personal opinion)-
If your FSX is installed in your C:/Program Files or Program files (x86) - UNINSTALL FS9 it and re-install in C:/FS9 (or any folder outside of the program files folders)- If if is not installed in the C:/Program Files or Program files (x86) completely disregard this recommendation.

Only other thought may be to roll back the last set of OS updates and see if that clears up the problem. MS is good ad breaking things with their "fixes". If that fails to yield results, MW7 will automatically update again, no harm no foul.

Please let me know if this helps or not.
Best of luck,
Greg

Hi there, I have FS9 already installed to C:\FS9

I tried to roll back of the windows update but then did a flight last night, I flew from RJAA to KJFK, No problems for the whole flight until i landed at KJFK after 12 hours of flying, Then it crashed on me right after i landed frown

No idea what to do now.

Only thing i can think of is check for updated graphics card drivers. The crashes aren't giving off any error codes?

None at all, That's the strange thing.. It seems to do it when i use ACARS... So that is very strange... I've downloaded the new ACARS and its up to date i believe.

If i do flight sim without using acars then it is fine.

Ok Michael, I am genuinely out of ideas... I recommend you make a help desk ticket with all the things from start to finish that we've tried and let the folks up top know whats going on. I'm sorry i couldn't have been more help and wish you best of luck. If i think of anything useful ill email it to you or post it on here.
Take Care,
Greg Bogosian
